Privacy Policy

Charcha helps households manage groceries, meals, documents, service contacts, internal groups, habits, and expenses. This policy explains what information the app is designed to handle.

Information you provide

Household members may add names, roles, email addresses, WhatsApp numbers, pantry items, shopping lists, meal plans, recipes, expenses, habit logs, service contacts, internal groups, and document metadata or files.

Information created by the app

When enabled and consented to, Charcha may process app activity, notification delivery status, device and app details, and error diagnostics to operate the service, improve reliability, and send requested reminders. Analytics and diagnostics can be controlled in Settings where those controls are available.

Device permissions

The app may request camera access to scan or attach document/visiting-card photos and contacts access when you choose to import a phone contact into the shared service directory. These permissions are used only for the selected feature.

How information is used

Information is used to provide household collaboration features, reminders, shared directories, document organization, and account access. We do not sell personal data.

Service providers

Charcha may use infrastructure and service providers for hosting, storage, push notifications, payments through Google Play, maps or geocoding, and optional content processing. Providers receive only the information needed for the selected feature and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Sharing

Data is shared within your household or selected internal groups based on app functionality. WhatsApp actions open WhatsApp with your chosen recipient; WhatsApp is governed by its own terms and policies.

Storage and security

Charcha uses authentication, access controls, and encrypted transport in the production configuration. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Keep account credentials private, share documents only with trusted spaces, and do not upload information that you are not authorized to store.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your account from the app or use our account deletion page. Deletion removes the account and associated active data, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup expiry.

Children

Households may include child profiles managed by adults. The app is intended for family administration, not for unsupervised child account creation.
